Clear Scraps: This Is Us Chipboard Word Title

Ack! I'm so behind on blogging!  I don't know what happened...I kind of fell out of habit but am determined to start being more regular.
Today, I'm sharing a layout I created for Clear Scraps using the This Is Us Chipboard Word Title.  This particular title has been very popular as you can imagine! I  worked the CKC show in St. Louis last month and it sold out!

To color my chipboard, I  used a grey colored chalk paint to match the Cocoa Vanilla Studio collection I  used (More Than Words).

My grey looked a little too flat so I added some clear glitter embossing powder to the front! This is a go-to technique of mine to add texture and sparkle!

Here is the end result! I  love how it turned out! You can also see I  added in some modeling paste to the background as well.

More Than Words has lots of fun embellishments to use such as this beautiful tag as well as die cut flowers!

More flowers layered with a frame as well as flair! I  love that CVS always has coordinating flair incorporate into your  projects!

Loving this pink ledger paper print! I  layered some stickers along with enamel dots from my stash at the top of my page.
More modeling paste! I  used the dots in the 6 Inch Circle Heart Mascil!

Thanks for looking! Visit the Clear Scraps shop to see all of the new Chipboard Words and Shapes!
Have a great night!

I'm still here....

Ok, I guess I've pretty much proven I suck at blogging.  Seriously though I think everyone looks at Instagram. I think even Pinterest has died down.  Anyway, I'm going to type out what I want because..well its my blog LOL

CHA or Creativation as its now called as come and gone and all the new pretty things are making their way into the stores. I was able to attend the show; it was a last minute decision and a roll of the dice with my  health after being in the hospital at the end of  December.  After a discussion with my husband, he convinced me to go be in my happy place with my scrappy tribe. Plus, if I died at least I'd be surrounded by pretty paper! LOL I ended up having a blast reconnecting with old friends as well as making new ones!! I got to hang out with the DT coordinator of Clear Scraps and I adore her. You know her as Pinky but I call her Cristal...mostly out of respect and that I like to annoy her! LOL

I worked in the booth for Susan and Jim at Clear Scraps...I love these two!   They are just good people...and they treat the team like family. Susan even made us turkey sandwiches every day for lunch!  :)  We had a lot of fun!

Susan and Jim even gave me the flexibility to be with Teresa when she had make and takes so that allowed me to be able to float around the floor!  Here we are in the Xyron booth! I adore this lady...so excited for what she has going on this year!!  I'm excited to be teaching at her Vegas event in September...it's going to be a blast!  And did you see the new Fiskars products she has designed? I seriously wanted to steal the clear stamps LOL

The night before I left my friend Jordan from SharBear Crafts texted me and asked if I was going to the show...we ended up being on the same flight! I got to hang out with Jordan and his mom the first day!  I've known him since he walked into the Chic Tags booth in Vegas at the summer show in 2013.   Jordan is an awesome person and I love that I can "talk shop" with him!  Check out his shop on Etsy...he always carries the latest releases!

I also got to see one of my best friends that moved to AZ from IL three years ago. Lori and I worked at a LSS together and were partners in crime. I miss her so much!  We even got to have dinner together! During the winters, I threatened to come live with her LOL...especially since she refuses to move back to IL . We used to always go on shopping trips to Michaels or Hobby Lobby together...now I don't have anyone to enable :(  LOL

One of the fun things about attending the show is that you get to meet your "teammates" in person....I  was able to meet Kevin and Amber Crowell (owners of Simple Stories) as well as DT coordinator Layle Koncar!  Love love love Simple Stories!  It has been such a fun company to be a part of!!  I just adore their products as well as their employees! I was able to talk to one of the graphic designers and told her to call me if she ever doubts her talent....I was telling her all of the things she did right on  the collections LOL Any of my scrappy friends that know me can tell you I'm a paper lover and appreciate great design of patterns and colors!

This is me, Cristal, and Susan during breakdown of the booth...we get a little stir crazy. I always hate seeing the show end although I'm happy to go home and see my family.  Phoenix was fun even though the weather was a little cool...I think people didn't respond to this location as well as Anaheim. Hopefully attendance will be up next year....I know it was cheaper for me to fly to Phoenix but I ended up having to rent a car plus park at the convention center. Anaheim was easier because you could just walk to the show..and plus Disney! LOL

I came home with a cold but not knock down sick like I was afraid I'd be. I know a lot of my scrappy friends had colds or a stomach bug after getting home. Cristal and I joked that next year we are wearing hazmat suits with our Clear Scraps aprons over the top LOL

If you attended the show, what did you think? If not, what new products are you favorite?
Have a great night!

The Cut Shoppe: Love

Today on The Cut Shoppe blog, I have a layout using some of the fun new cut files!  I fell in love with the 12x12 X to the O background cut file!  I used an ombre pattern from Bella Blvd's Valentina collection. I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out but I love how it looks!

I used the Kitchy Cursive Alphabet Cut File for my title as well as added coordinating stickers and sequins.

A close up of the ombre pattern with the cut file!

I have a pretty large stash of sequins from my Teresa Collins Designs collections and I love adding them to layouts!  I also used a cut out wood veneer heart from Freckled Fawn!

Showing more of the coordinating stickers from Valentina....for more shine, I used a gold photo clip by Studio Calico.

Thank you for stopping by tonight!  Check out all of the fun files at The Cut Shoppe on Etsy!  Have a wonderful night!

Clear Scraps: Mother's Day layout

Hello! Happy Thursday to you! Hope your week is going well! Today on Clear Scraps, I have a layout and tutorial up on the blog!  I used the new Chevron Border Mascil and the Banner Mixer for my page.  I incorporated gold accents into my layout...let me show you how!

Securing the Border Mascil with washi tape, I lightly sprayed with Gold Color Shine from Heidi Swapp. I used a paper towel to dab my page before lifting the Mascil.  I found this helps any errant drips from ruining my effect.

And here is how it turned out! I used two different patterned papers and adhered them to the side of my page allowing the gold to show.

I never seem to use up all of the rub ons in a collection.  I had the idea of cutting the rub ons into smaller sections and placing over my Banner Mixer.

This is a great way to add accent to your acrylic!  I found too that if the edges aren't quite perfect you can smooth with your finger or lightly sand with a sanding tool.  :)

More photos of my page! I used Maggie Holmes' Styleboard: a collection I have been hoarding!

I layered pieces of the ephemera as well as added enamel dots from Crate Paper and Teresa Collins Designs.

If you are celebrating Mother's Day this weekend, I wish you a happy one!  Whether or not you are a mom, I challenge you to take photos of yourself this week!  I am guilty of being the photographer and not getting in front of the camera!  As women, we are too self critical.  Even as I  look at this photo of myself from 6 years ago,  I remember not liking the way I looked.   At the time, my own mother was in the hospital fighting for her life against cancer. It made me realize that I needed to be photographed with my kids. I needed to cherish every day.  Now with my mom gone, I absolutely TREASURE photos of us together.  I regret not taking more. So, please document yourself!
 Have a great day!

Clear Scraps Acrylic Garden Border: Bloom

Happy Easter!  I hope you had a good day! This past week I had a layout up on the Clear Scraps blog using the Garden Acrylic Border, the 6 inch Wood Grain Mascil,  and Teresa Collins Designs' Something Wonderful.

Showing some of the cute die cuts and chipboard pieces from Something Wonderful.

If you check out the Clear Scraps blog, I have a tutorial on how I colored my acrylic border!

My title is designed by House of 3 (#8779)
from the Silhouette shop.

I added in some coordinating sequins, buttons, and decorative brads in and around the acrylic border.

Thanks for reading! Have a great day!

March Scrapping Our Stash Blog Hop

Hello! March is coming to a close so that means another fun Scrapping Our Stash Blog Hop
This month, I used Teresa Collins Designs'  Daily Stories collection!

Here is the blog list if you are following along!
Jennifer http://livethemoment-jen.blogspot.com *you are here*

I used a cut file from the Silhouette shop (#64792)
for my title to go with some selfies I "stole" from my daughter's Instagram.  I used some of the cute enamel shapes to accent!

Here, I used a tag for my journaling and then added coordinating enamel dots, washi tape, and a wooden ampersand.

Showing some of the die cut sentiments! I paired them with a layered butterfly sticker.

I used a Polaroid frame cut file from the Silhouette shop on one of my photos!

Thanks for hopping with us! I hope you find lots of inspiration to use up some of your own stash!
Have a great day!
