Simple Stories' Crafty Girl

Hello! I'm back with another layout to share! For this page, I  used Simple Stories' Crafty Girl collection!  There is so much to love about this line; from the bright prints to the crafty sentiments that would make any scrappy heart happy!  I  scrapped photos from last year's Creativation show in Phoenix of all my scrappy friends!  I  love going to the shows because it makes me feel less of a scrapgeek! LOL

To fit multiple photos on my page, I  used wallet sized pictures matted on to white cardstock (I  wanted them to look like Polaroids).  I  also arranged my photos and embellishments in a "clothesline" fashion to incorporate even more goodies!  Where I  could,  I utilized my pop dots to create dimension and so they would appear to be "hanging" on the line.  I  even used mini wooden clothes pins!
The Bits and Pieces pack has many fun shapes and tags such as this journaling circle!  I  layered the coordinating washi tape underneath along with stickers from the 4x6 Sticker Sheet.

I  used my hand punches to create my own embellishments such as this tag (the plaid print is one of my favorites!)  The chipboard scissors are a nice accent to the floral heart!

One of my favorite pieces is the washi tape die cut! So cute!

Thank you for looking! You can go to the Simple Stories Products Page to see this collection plus much more!  Have a great day!

Clear Scraps: This Is Us Chipboard Word Title

Ack! I'm so behind on blogging!  I don't know what happened...I kind of fell out of habit but am determined to start being more regular.
Today, I'm sharing a layout I created for Clear Scraps using the This Is Us Chipboard Word Title.  This particular title has been very popular as you can imagine! I  worked the CKC show in St. Louis last month and it sold out!

To color my chipboard, I  used a grey colored chalk paint to match the Cocoa Vanilla Studio collection I  used (More Than Words).

My grey looked a little too flat so I added some clear glitter embossing powder to the front! This is a go-to technique of mine to add texture and sparkle!

Here is the end result! I  love how it turned out! You can also see I  added in some modeling paste to the background as well.

More Than Words has lots of fun embellishments to use such as this beautiful tag as well as die cut flowers!

More flowers layered with a frame as well as flair! I  love that CVS always has coordinating flair incorporate into your  projects!

Loving this pink ledger paper print! I  layered some stickers along with enamel dots from my stash at the top of my page.
More modeling paste! I  used the dots in the 6 Inch Circle Heart Mascil!

Thanks for looking! Visit the Clear Scraps shop to see all of the new Chipboard Words and Shapes!
Have a great night!

Clear Scraps Acrylic Card Tutorial

Hello friends...hope you are having a good week! It seems to be going fast and I   can't believe tomorrow is March 1st!  Yesterday on the Clear Scraps blog I  shared a video tutorial on a fun technique coloring stamped images on acrylic!  I  recently started a YouTube channel so bare with me since I'm new at this!  Doing videos is something I've been wanting to do for a long time.

Here is my first card! I  used the 12x12 Acrylic Sheets cut down to approximately 4x5 inches.  A solvent based ink is always recommended as it will dry quickly and will not smear.  I  used StazOn in black with a fun Dina Wakley stamp set.

Once my stamped images were dry, I  flipped over my acrylic to start painting with my Zig Paint Pens.

Here is my video demonstrating the technique!

Thanks for stopping by! I    hope to have more videos posted soon! Have a great night!

Clear Scraps: Fall Clipboard

Yesterday, I had a fun fall themed home decor project up on the Clear Scraps blog!  The acrylic clipboards are one of my favorite products released this past year!  Using the Large Regular Portrait Clipboard,  I created a fall wall hanging with Simple Stories' Pumpkin Spice!

I also added the new Chipboard Feathers! I colored them using three different spray inks blotting with a paper towel in between colors!  I love how they turned out! I used one of the Pumpkin Spice self adhesive Bradz and bakers twine from Whisker Graphics!

My sentiment is a Silhouette cut file called "Every Year I Fall For You Phrase" by Kolette Hall (#93417).   I backed each line with different patterned papers from Pumpkin Spice.

Showing some of the chipboard buttons and another Bradz from Simple Stories!

Pumpkin Spice also includes coordinating enamel dots as well!

Thanks for stopping by! Check out the Clear Scraps shop to see all of the new chipboard shapes and frames!  Have a great night!

My Scraps and More: Silly

Hello and Happy Thursday!  Today I am sharing a layout I created for My Scraps and More using the new Echo Park Jack and Jill collection.  I appreciate a good boy-themed line and this doesn't disappoint!  I love the colors and fun die cut stickers!   I thought it went perfect with this adorable photo of my dad and nephew.

I used a fun cut file from The Cut Shoppe called Counting Stars. I think its so cute!

I layered the patterned papers, as well as die cut stickers. I also added  a bold red arrow to accent.

I love the wood grain print as well as the fun tag stickers! I added some bakers twine from
Whisker Graphics as well as flair from {a flair for buttons}. To keep with the star theme, I did add in a couple wooden veneer stars from Studio Calico

My title is from American Craft Thickers and you can also see some accent stickers as well.

Thank you for stopping by! Be sure to check out the My Scraps and More Forums for our Winter Cabin Crop going on! There is lots of inspiration and challenges happening!

Practical Scrappers Scrap Your Stash Blog Hop: Fall/Halloween Edition

Happy Halloween!  This is one of my favorite holidays and today I'm happy to be a part of the Practical Scrappers Scrap Your Stash Blog Hop.  If you are following the list, you've come from    Kristy's blog. Below is the full list just in case you  need it!

For my projects, I used My Mind's Eye's Mischievous collection. I've definitely been hoarding it since it was debuted in the summer of 2011.  I scrapped a photo of my husband and I from a costume party in 2004!

I created a banner using two of my hand punches as well as chipboard pieces and coordinating brads.

I had some papers and embellishments left over so I decorated this mason jar to fill with Halloween goodies as teacher gifts!    I used the 3d Straight Edge Flower cut file by Jamie Cripps ( #44283)  from the Silhouette shop as my center and added a cute brad and bakers twine from Whisker Graphics.

Thanks for hopping along with us!! Up next is Cheryl's blog! Have a great day!

Paper Secrets March 1st Sketch Reveal

It's a new month  and time for another fun sketch from Paper Secrets!  The challenge word for this sketch is SPRING!

For my layout, I used Authentique's new Abroad line. And my challenge word letters are S-stencil P-pin R-ribbon I-ink N-numbers G-glassine.

I used a small glassine envelope behind my photo and added a decorative pin from Little Yellow Bicycle. The ribbon is May Arts and the wooden veneer geo tag is from Studio Calico.

I used black letter stickers from Jillibean Soup on one of the coordinating stickers and then stitched through with my sewing machine.

I used more of the coordinating Abroad stickers, as well as a button from my stash and wooden veneer chevron.  The letter stickers are American Craft Thickers.

I used bakers twine from Whisker Graphics around my center photo...I "popped" it up with foam circles, as well.

I used my Clear Scraps 6 Inch Chicken Wire Mascil and red Maya Road Mist as a background, as well as to give a pop of red.

Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to play along for your chance to win a gift card to the Paper Secrets shop!
