Clear Scraps: Explore

Last week, I had a layout and tutorial up on the Clear Scraps blog using the new
Helm and Anchor Chipboard Embellishments.  I thought this set would go great with this cute photo of my nephew and October Afternoon's Treasure Map!

I'm going to show you how I altered my chipboard pieces!  First, I applied a couple layers of white acrylic paint to each piece.

I've had this ombre ink from Hero Arts since October and have been wanting to use it!  I thought the teal color would go well with my paper line.

After allowing the acrylic paint to dry, I turned the pieces over and lightly applied directly to the ink pad.

Once dry, I used Ranger Distress Crackle Paint in Clear Rock Candy.

To give texture to my anchor, I used one of my roller stamps from American Crafts and did some "messy" stamping....I love how it turned out!

For my title, I used wood grain Chipboard letters from October Afternoon, as well as added flair and stickers from Treasure Map. I also added wooden veneer stars from Studio Calico (love these!).

I adhered some of the Sew Fun Banners on top of a Border and Label Stickers then stitched through.

Thanks for reading...you can visit the Clear Scraps shop to see these and the many new products!
Have a great day!

My Scraps and More: Handsome

This past weekend on the My Scraps and More blog, I had a layout up using the new Cocoa Vanilla line Made of Awesome!  I'm so happy Audrey brought this new company into the shop! I love the papers and embellishments!   And I always appreciate a good boy line!

I used one of the journaling cards to jot down some info about my photo and then added one of the cute flair buttons and enamel dots that coordinate with the collection. From my stash, I used some washi tape from Bella Blvd and a wooden veneer star from Studio Calico.

For my background, I used the "Counting Stars" cut file from The Cut Shoppe an added in different patterns to the centers.

Showing some of the coordinating stickers as well as more enamel dots!

My title is made from October Afternoon Alpha Stickers...they are so versatile and I use the on many projects!

Thanks for stopping by! I know Audrey just restocked the shop with this collection plus a few more!  The first round went pretty fast!  Have a great day!

OA Summertime: Summer Checklist 2015

Hello! I'm back again because I have my last guest post on the October Afternoon blog today! It's been a fun month creating with OA's wonderful products!

I used a Daily Flash album to create my family's must do list for the summer!  I love the bright colors of Summertime as well as the fun theme embellishments like this pink flamingo!  I decided to keep the front of my album simple by adding a few patterned papers as well as Daily Flash Alphas and Summertime Date Stickers. I finished by adding a doily and bakers twine from my stash!

I love the Grey Flannel Chipboard Alphas!  I have a huge collection of different colors!

Each Daily Flash Album come with a variety of different configurations of pockets. I love the smaller  squares such as the 2x2's!

Here, I used one of the Summertime Memory Cards for my journaling! I added a Date Sticker as well  as one of the coordinating Double Take stickers.  Also in the collection is a new Catch Phrase roller stamp with twelve fun sayings to choose from!

I love the light string sticker from the Double Take sheet!  I also used Orange Alpha Stickers for my #2 on the list!  The photo of our dog, Max, "helping" my husband grill cracks me up!  :)

I love the page of just 2x2 squares! I cut different patterns as well as used a piece from the
"Green Grass"  sheet (which is nothing but 2x2's with cute sayings and pictures!).

The A side of "Blue Skies" has multi-sized journaling cards such as this 4x4 sentiment! You can also add in Memory Cards as well!

Thanks for stopping by today! What is your favorite summer activity? Have a great day!

October Afternoon Guest Design Spot: Treasure Map

I'm so far behind on my blogging!  Have had some computer issues with my laptop but I purchased a new one today so hopefully I will get back on schedule!  I'm still trying to recover from this dumb virus too...leaves me with little energy.

This month I'm so excited to be guest designing at October Afternoon!  I have loved their products since they started...I still have some of the "original" stamp sets! LOL  Today, I am sharing a layout I created with the very fun Treasure Map collection! The nautical/pirate theme is great for travel or cute boy photos!  When I saw this line, I knew right away I wanted to scrap these adorable photos of my nephew, Deacon. My BIL is a huge Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan and Deacon always gets into the spirit of football!  He's even stepping on a teddy bear since the Bucs were playing the Chicago Bears that day! LOL

OA never disappoints with the variety of embellishments in their collections!  Treasure Map includes a 12x12 cardstock sticker sheet full of cute shapes! I used this journaling spot to jot down a little about my photos. I also added two circles from the Sew Fun Banner sheet!

Speaking of Sew Fun Banners, here is a peek of a few that come with the collection. I am a big fan of these as 1) I love to sew on my pages and 2) I love pennants and banners!

I added both pennants and circles from the Sew Fun Banners at the top of my layout. Then, of course, I added some stitching.

I also used two more pennants under my photo as well as added a cute sticker!

I'm also a big fan of the Tin Pins and Doo-Dads as well as the Mini Market Alphas!   They make great accents to tuck under or on top of your photos to create some fun layers!

I used the cute Anchor Tin Pin on top of some patterned paper and Border Stickers...again with stitching!

Thanks for looking! Check back on the OA blog next Friday for more of my projects!  Have a great day!

My Scraps and More: Pancakes for Dinner

Hello! It's the weekend finally!  The temps are supposed to be in the low 60's which is great news!

Today on the My Scraps and More blog I have a layout using MSAM Sketch #101 with
October Afternoon's Saturday Mornings collection. I love the retro feel of this line; the prints are so cute!
The pancake print made me want to scrap these older photos of my daughter...she used to eat pancakes for almost every meal.

So, here is the sketch created by owner, Audrey Yeager!

And here is my layout!

I used letter stickers from OA's Daily Flash line for my title.

I cut strips of different patterns and stitched through.  I also added some stamping with my Glitz triangles roller stamp.

Using different sized hand punches, I cut circles and adhered randomly on my page. I also added wooden veneer starbursts from Studio Calico, as well as enamel dots.  The journaling spot from Saturday Mornings Do-Dads is perfect to jot down some information about my page.

I always love the OA Tin Pins as well! The stack of pancakes is perfect for my page!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Check out the MSAM shop for many collections...including some new Jillibean Soup!  Use code Lucky20 for 20% off during the month of March! And I promise Audrey is super fast with shipping! I usually have my items within three days!  :)
Have a great day!

February Scrapping Our Stash Blog Hop

It's time for another "Scrapping Our Stash" blog hop! I love being able to use up some of my older lines! If you are following the blog roll, you have come from Lee-Anne's  blog!  Below is the full list, just in case!

I used a collection I've been hoarding: October Afternoon's 9-5.  I bought pretty much everything in the line (and I still have a lot left after creating this page!).  I wanted to scrap this funny photo of me and my coworkers and 9-5 was perfect!

I layered some of the Tid Bits and Doo-Dads on top of my photo as well as added some coordinating buttons.  I love the colors of this collection!

Showing one of the cute Tin Pins!

I used a portion of the mini flags and used them as pennants.

My title is the Simple Stories' Laugh Cursive cut file from the Silhouette store (#57030).

Next up is Charity's blog! I hope this inspires you to dig out some of your older collections and make a page or two! Have a great day!

My Scraps and More: Pajama Day

Hello..sorry for my short absence. I worked extra days at the office this week. I bow down to all of you moms out there who work full time. I am beyond exhausted. However, I feel lucky to be in such a great office, as well as be able to work part time.

Today, I'm sharing a layout I created for My Scraps And More using the new October Afternoon's Saturday Mornings collection.  I love that Audrey brings in the latest lines for paper addicts like me!  Plus, she ships fast!  Check out the shop by clicking here

I knew I wanted to use a photo of my son when he had a preschool pajama day. The fun colors and retro patterns of Saturday Mornings is great to work with!  I used letter stickers from my stash (Simple Stories and Heidi Swapp).

I used different sizes of circle hand punches and layered them on my page. I also added some wooden veneer stars from Studio Calico.

Love the "Doo-Dads" and fun "Tin Pins" that coordinate with this line!

Thanks for looking! Also check out My Scraps and More for daily challenges and inspiration!
Have a great night!
