Paper Secrets August 1st Sketch

Hello friends...happy Sunday to you. Hope your day is off to a good start! I'm sitting at church waiting for my kiddos. They both serve during even months and then attend 3rd hour church.  So, this gives me time to get caught up on some blogging!
Today I am sharing a layout I created using the Paper Secrets' August 1st sketch. This sketch's challenge word is SWIM

For my layout, I used Authentique's Suave collection.  My challenge word items are S: stars, stamp  W: white, washi, I: ink  M: mist (on ink resistant stars).

I've had these fun ink-resistant stars from Pink Paislee in my stash for awhile and I thought they would be fun to use on my page.  I lightly misted this one with Heidi Swapp's Color Shine in Gold.

More stars, plus enamel dots and shapes from Basic Grey.

Of course I had to add some of my pug flair from Panda Eight Designs!  I adhered a wooden veneer starburst shape from Studio Calico around my flair.

Showing the washi tape, plus date stamp I used.....

Thanks for stopping by today! You have until the end of the month to link up your own layout to the Paper Secrets' blog for a chance to win a GC to the shop!
Have a great day!

Clear Scraps Chevron Mascil and Acrylic Border

Sorry I've been so bad about updating my blog. I have a lot of projects to share so I'll try to be better. Honestly,  I haven't been feeling all that great. My energy is low and I've been wiped out. I am starting a new job (maybe) part time at a dental office plus am trying to train for a half marathon.  I wish I knew what was going on with my body. I seem to do well for awhile and then bam! I hit a wall and I'm so exhausted.  Right now, I'm so tired. I spent a lot of time resting today even though its been gorgeous outside.  Anyway, on to my project!
This past week, I had a layout up on the Clear Scraps blog using one of my favorite shapes: Chevrons!  I used Fancy Pants Designs' Parkbench collection featuring my puggie, Max!

I used a portion on of the Chevron Acrylic Border at the top of my page. I chose to leave it bare, but you can easily color acrylic with alcohol inks, acrylic paint, or stamp with Staz-On inks.

So, even before creating my page, I used my Clear Scraps 12 inch Chevron Mascil and lightly sprayed with grey spray ink from October Afternoon.

LOVE this flair from Panda Eight Designs!! I had to use it on my page :)

Thanks for stopping by!  Please check out the new Mascils released this month at the
Clear Scraps shop!  They are so fun to work with!

Rescued: Chic Tags January Exclusive Kit

Hello...hope you are having a good weekend. It's been busy around here but in a good way. One of my best friends celebrated her 40th birthday Friday and I got to go to dinner with her and a few other friends. Last night the hubby and I are met some friends for dinner. We so needed a night out together!

Today I am sharing a layout I created for Chic Tags using the January Exclusive Kit.  I am always amazed with the kits...there is so much fun items to play with!  Not to mention the colors are amazing!

I started by using a Studio Calico mask and some spray ink for my back ground. I then layered some of the 4x6 cards under my photo.

Love this cute pennant tag! I adhered it to my photo and then added a staple.

The kit includes this cute little photo frame. I backed it with white cardstock and added a plastic letter.

Showing off the arrow stamp from the clear stamp set! Such a nice accent.

Veronica and Albert always come up with cute flair buttons in the kits!

Of course, I had to add some paint splatters and enamels dots.

Be sure to check out this kit as well as February's!  Can't wait to see what is in store for March!
Thanks for stopping by!

Happy "Gotcha Day"...

So one year ago today, I drove to St. Louis to pick up our sweet pug Max.  And what a year its been....he's such a loving, good natured dog. Max loves to interact with all people and animals. He's not afraid to drop right in front of a stranger's feet to demand a belly rub.  Today we are celebrating his "birthday".

I made this fun layout with My Mind's Eye's Cut and Paste collection.  I had taken Max through the Krispy Kreme drive thru and caught this photo. I absolutely love it.

Some of the fun buttons that come with the collection. I also added a sticker for some journaling on the side.

Love this icon from Chic Tags (the Everyday Life II collection). I popped this and the sentiment up with foam tape.

More buttons and enamel dots. Plus some splatter of ink from October Afternoon and Tattered Angels.

My title is made from KI Memories rub on letters as well as American Craft Thickers.

Thanks for reading and hope you have a great Friday night evening! We are just relaxing as a family after a very long week!

Layouts with Carta Bella's So Noted

Today I am sharing two layouts I created for the design team at The Scrapbooking Studio. This month, I used Carta Bella's So Noted collection.

Since So Noted is a very book/reading oriented line, I decided to use some photos from an author meet and greet I attended this past spring. My friend, Michelle and I, drove up to Naperville to Anderson Books where Stephenie Meyer was doing a promotion for "The Host" movie.  Of course, being huge fans of the Twilight Saga, we had to go. So, we made the two hour trek to stand in a long line.  I probably spent less than 30 seconds with her but I do have my copy of Twilight autographed.

Here, I used punched circles of the different patterns, as well as a cardstock sticker. I also added enamel dots from My Mind's Eye and cute flair from {a flair for buttons}.

For my title, I used some of the coordinating letter stickers as well as American Craft Thickers.

Staying with the circle theme, I punched different sizes from the patterned paper (plus added a couple vellum circles) and stitched through.

I used the coordinating number stickers to document the year and added some sprinkles of ink, as well as a wooden veneer arrow from Studio Calico. The stamped sentiment is from the Dear Lizzy roller stamp.

In the margin of my page, I stuck in a decorative star pin from Maya Road. This was a last minute addition and I love the color!

For my second layout, I used a Silhouette cut file for the arrows and then backed them with different patterns.  The star of my page is my pug Max!  I thought the colors of his toy coordinated with this line.  Plus he's just fun to scrapbook!

I layered a tag from American Crafts, doily, and awesome pug flair from Panda Eight

My title is made from the coordinating letter stickers....there is a 12x12 sheet that goes with the collection.  I also added blocks of paper, as well as coordinating stickers.

A close up of the arrows:

At the top right , I added punched pennants from patterned paper and vellum. I then stitched through with my sewing machine.

Here, I used one of the coordinating file tab stickers. I added a few of the smaller stickers, as well as enamel dots from Basic Grey and My Mind's Eye.

Thanks for reading today!! Hope you are inspired to do some crafting today! I finally have a day off from work so I'm locking myself in my room for most of the day! :)

Practical Scrappers June Layout Sketch Reveal

It's finally Friday!  This week has seemed really long for some reason.  Probably had something to do with a three day headache.  I still managed to get some crafty time in though. Plus, I subbed in an office today doing dental hygiene.

Today I'm sharing a layout I did for the Practical Scrappers design team!  Liz Chidester always has awesome sketches for the team to work with!  This month's is no exception!

And here is my layout using Amy Tangerine's Yes Please collection:

I created my title with a combination of my Silhouette and Thickers from American Crafts.

I used a few of the die cuts from the Bits pack that coordinates with the line. Love the dog! I had to use it!

Also loving these fun flair badges!  Max definitely cracks me up on a daily basis. He is such a spaz dog. I love his squishy face though...I can't help but love him when he looks at me with those big eyes.

Be sure to check out Practical Scrappers today for more layouts from the design team!
