The Host book signing with Stephanie Meyer

Yesterday I went up to Anderson's Bookshop in Naperville with my good friend Michelle to see the one and only Stephanie Meyer! Ok, it was only 10 seconds or so for her to sign my copies of Twilight and The Host, but I was face to face with her (she even talked to me!)

Ok, to go back to 2008, I became a tad obsessed with the Twilight Saga. Not long before the first movie came out, I decided to read the book. I was hooked.  This led to me becoming a full-fledged Twilight Mom and attending conventions.  No joke.

Fast forward to now and I am still a fan....just not like I was. However, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to meet the author of one of my favorite book series!  Plus, I wanted to see some of my TwiMom friends I hadn't seen for a couple of years.

Michelle and I had planned to leave right after the kids went to school...but I ended up having to take Hailey to the doctor because her ear was still bothering her.  I didn't think we were going to be able to go but we got up to Naperville at the perfect time. We literally walked in and within 10 minutes were getting our books signed.

I think I said something along the lines of "I'm a big fan..thank you for coming".  I never know what to say.  I really wanted to ask her if she was ever going to finish Midnight Sun but I know she probably hates being asked that.  I also wanted to tell her to have Rob call me but I'm sure she's told that all the time LOL

So, even though it was pretty much over and done within a minute, I'm glad I went.
Afterwards, we headed around the corner to Gioridano's to meets up with other TM's.
I have been really looking forward to see my good friends Erin and Val from Iowa.  I attended three conventions with these ladies and love them to death.  We always seem to have so much fun together.  (Val keeps me and Erin in line..somewhat)

It was fun visiting and we decided we need a TM meet up without the convention and $300 Gold Ticket.

Afterwards, Michelle and I went to Trader Joe's so she could shop. I should've taken a picture of her being so giddy and happy! She kept apologizing to me but I told her it is the same as me shopping in a scrapbook store! LOL  I also wanted to ask one of the employees if they had organic Diet Coke.

I Am Thankful

Hi everyone and Happy Thanksgiving!

Today I am happy to share a fun project I created for the Clear Scraps design team!  Using the new Acrylic Recipe Stand, I created a mini book documenting what I am thankful for.   The stand comes with not only acrylic pages, but chipboard as well. I opted to not use the chipboard pages but they can easily be incorporated into your book.

I used Simple Stories' Harvest Lane collection for my book. Simple Stories is always a favorite and I love the beautiful colors of the line.  For the cover, I used Maya Road chipboard letters for my title, as well as the Harvest Lane letter stickers. I added a doily as well as a Maya Road Metal Vintage Trinket Love Hanger.
The mini clothespin is from Canvas Corp

I love the 4x6 journaling spots...they fit perfectly for this project!  Here, I added some letter stickers from the collection, as well as Studio Calico wooden veneer people and washi tape from American Crafts and Bella Blvd.

Love the circle tab on this album...a great spot to place my numbers!  I used Maya Road chipboard numbers and inked them with Red Velvet Tattered Angels Mist.

The house and picket fence come from the 12x12 Harvest Lane sticker sheet! Very cute!

Thanks for reading and I hope this inspires you to create a thankful project!

I moustache you....

It's been almost a week since my last post. Chris and I had a blast in Louisville at the wedding. While shopping with the ladies on Saturday, a friend found these very fun temporary tattoo moustaches.   They were great for pictures :)  Here is one of the group:

Anyway, I am STILL recovering from the weekend. I am not used to staying up late!  LOL But, it was worth it!

I've been working hard in my scraproom this week but can't share anything just yet.  The kiddos go back to school a week from today...I told my husband the first full week I am not doing anything but scrapbooking!

Happy December 1st!

I'm so excited to get started on my first December Daily!  I told myself this year I would take the time to do it, no matter what! :)
It's been a busy week as I'm trying to get ready for a class I'm teaching on Saturday.  I'm on page 15 of a 25 page book! It's taken me longer than I thought, but luckily my wonderful boss, Margaret, has been helping me.

Just wanted to share a mini book I put together for one of my BFFs, Shelley, for her birthday:
I used a Maya Road chipboard book, with My Mind's Eye Lost and Found collection.  The flowers I used are from Prima.

These friends and I have known each other since junior high.....some of us since grade school!  We try to get together at least once a year and do something. Last December, we all went to Vegas for my 37th birthday. I had a friend that had invited me out to do the Las Vegas half marathon....so it turned into a girls' trip! We had a lot of fun. I've been telling all of them to save up...my 40th is in two years and I WILL BE on a beach somewhere!! :)
Ok, better get back to kitting!!
