Red Crocs

TGIF!  It's unofficially the weekend!  My dear husband turns the big 5-3 on Sunday so we'll be celebrating. I'm sure though he'll be out watching NCAA tournament basketball games. He lives for this time of year!

The layout I'm sharing today is one I did awhile ago. It was a spur of the moment one I decided to do to use up some of my stash.  Plus, I love this picture of Hailey...she was a day shy of her 4th birthday and the flower girl in my sister's wedding. For the wedding party introduction at the reception, she had insisted on taking off her pretty white shoes and putting on her red Crocs (which she lived in).
I think an hour later, she was out of her dress and into shorts and a t-shirt!

I used piece of Dear Lizzy's 5th Avenue and Frolic collection for my layout....all picked from
The Scrapbooking Studio (my second home!).

I used a combination of letters from American Crafts, Sassafras Lass, and Basic Grey

Cute flair from {a flair for buttons}!

I created a banner with the cardstock stickers and some vellum. Of course, I had to stitch through the banner!! I love my sewing machine!

Journaling card from the collection...the cute red woodgrain washi tape is from Freckled Fawn.

The "best things" sentiment is part of a snippet from Elle's Studio. I also added arrows created with my Silhouette.

Have a great weekend!

October Afternoon's Farm Girl layouts

Sorry for my absence...been going through of a bit of a creative block lately. I think its the weather...I just want to sit in a blanket and read.  Thankfully spring is around the corner.  And to get me in the spring mood, I'm sharing some layouts I created for The Scrapbooking Studio design team with October Afternoon's Farm Girl collection.
I am a huge fan of October Afternoon and love working with their lines!

This first layout is called "Goose Party"....Hailey was just a little girl in these photos. My mom had taken her down to the riverfront to feed the geese and Hailey commented that there was a "goose party" going on.

I used letter stickers from the Simple Stories' SNAP line stitched through. I also used my circle punch to create negative space and placed patterned paper behind. I accented with some circle pieces of the Sew Fun Banners, as well as and coordinating flair.

At the top of my layout, I cut these circles from a Silhouette file and again added pieces from the Sew Fun Banners and flair

Here, a few pieces of the "Doo Dads" including a fun pink library card for journaling.  I also added a milk cap from The Scrapbooking Studio's flea market!

Honestly, it has taken me a long time to want to scrapbook these pictures..I have a few that come from a time period right before Mom got sick.  I don't know why I've held on to them. I told my sister I've almost been afraid to scrap them just because this is it. These are the last pictures I have of my mom being alive (except for when she was dying).  I don't know how to explain it.  Anyway, I'm trying to get over this.

Ok, on to the next layout which I titled "Cow Kisses".  Again, Hailey is so little....4 almost 5 yrs old.  She still had to carry a Webkinz everywhere she went.

Using some of the cardstock stickers as well as the journaling spot.  I added a button with some bakers twine from Whisker Graphics.  The little "milk" circle is from the Sew Fun Banner. I love how you can take pieces from the sheet and use them however you want.

Again, I took pieces of the Sew Fun Banner and layered them at the top of my layout.

Cute cow flair with a wooden veneer arrow from Studio Calico.  My title letters are from American Crafts and Sassafras Lass.

I'll be back again soon to share a cute mini I did with the Farm Girl line!  Meanwhile, I plan on crafting in my scraproom most of this weekend! Thanks for reading!

Practical Scrappers January Sketch

Hey everyone! It's been a busy week of reveals all around! Loving the sneak peeks coming from many companies gearing up for CHA!  A week from tomorrow, my friend Malika Kelly, and I leave for Anaheim!

Today I am sharing a layout I did for the Practical Scrappers design team! Here is the awesome sketch done by Practical Scrapper  Liz Chidester!

And here is my layout:  I used Basic Grey's Clippings collection to document my son's birthday last year!

I was in sort of a dilemma on how to make the large circle. So I busted out my old school EK Success Curvy Cutter!  I was surprised I actually still had replacement blades for it. I can't tell you the last time I had used it.  LOL

Showing the fun stitched garland that comes with the collection. I used just a few of the pennants from the 12x12 sheet.  I also used some of the borders stickers as well as some washi tape from Bella Blvd

Cute journaling spot that comes on the 12x12 sticker sheet.  Also, love the button stickers!

Clippings also has a package of cute wooden buttons. Here, I used one on my photo and adorned it with some baker's twine from Whisker Graphics!

Be sure to check out the Practical Scrapper blog for more inspiration and ideas!  Thanks for reading! -Jen

Sketchabilities #82

Hello! Today I am excited to share my second layout for Sketchabilities. I am loving all of Karan's sketches! They are so fun to work with!  Be sure to check the blog for lots of inspiration and ideas!!

Here is Sketch 82! I love the big pennant in the middle!

And here is my take on the sketch! I used Fancy Pants' The Good Life collection for my layout. And since New Years is right around the corner, I used pictures from last NYE of our daughter.

I love the colors of this line, as well as the package of chipboard buttons, stars, and hearts. Plus color coordinating buttons!  I wanted to layer as much as I could around my photo.

For my title, I used American Craft Thickers, as well as letter stickers from Sassafras Lass (I bought as much as I could at The Scrapbooking Studio up in Moline after Sassafrass announced they were no more. Sad!)

Check out the blog today for other designers' layouts!  Thanks for reading! -Jen
