I pulled out some old October Afternoon for my layout!  This collection is called Report Card and I think I've had it for at least 3 years, if not more.

 

 

 

 I used some of the coordinating letter stickers from Report Card, along with newer OA stickers from Daily Flash.

 

I used one of the journaling cards to type up a little info about my photos. These cards were the ones you actually could punch out of a 12x12 sheet!

I used buttons that actually  go with the School House collection but I thought they worked! I also added some small wooden veneer stars from Studio Calico.

Creating Banners with Chic Tags

Hello and Happy Tuesday! I'm up on the Chic Tags blog today showing how to create a fun banner on your layout using Mini Icons and Photo Toppers. I used the fun and new School House collection!

 

 

You can mix and match different icons and photo toppers...what is great about these embellishments is that they fit for pretty much any subject! 

 

 

Next, I layered my pieces, adding in pennants that I created with a punch, as well as stamped images from the School House Nerd Acrylic Stamp Set (love the name! LOL)

 

I then stitched through the top of my banner and added some small embellishments such as enamel dots and wooden veneer starts. I also stamped a few of the hand drawn stars included in the clear stamp set. 

 

For my title, I used one of the School Sayings Free Cut files found in the Chic Tags shop.

I love to cut most of my titles and shapes with white cardstock. I then use a light mist of spray ink to help my cut file stand out.

Back to School

Hi everyone! Sorry for my absence...even with the kiddos in school all day, its seems that I'm busy running errands all day. Plus, I've been trying to get into my scraproom to work on some projects!

Today I am sharing two projects I did for The Scrapbooking Studio design team using Graphic 45's An ABC Primer collection.  I love Graphic 45 but usually don't use it very often because honestly, I don't know how to use it. I don't think the vintage look is my thing..but I was happily surprised on how much I liked using this collection.

First up is a layout I did with a picture of my daughter on her first day of 2nd grade. I used  my Tim Holtz paper distresser on the edges of my patterned papers to give my layout a more vintage feel.

I loved the chipboard and die cut tags and used them to layer around my photo. I finished it off with a vintage button from Tim Holtz's Ideology collection.

 Here I used the Tim Holtz rosette die followed by a bingo piece from Maya Road. 

More Tim Holtz goodness!! I stamped "discover" on a small piece of paper and used of of the vintage plates. 

Next, here is a card that I created using the same line.  I used some of the patterned papers as well as the chipboard die cuts.  I also incorporated a tag from Jenni Bowlin, as well as cardstock circle stickers.

The photo holder is part of my stash...I've had them for so long I don't remember where I bought them. I'm sure we all have items like that in our supplies! LOL  I finished my card with some black and white baker's twine from Divine Twine.

Lastly, I made a mini book using Wendy Vecchi's Art Parts as pages.  I inked the front cover using Dylusions Post Box Red. And I wanted my book to have lots of tags and baker's twine!  

I mixed in some more Jenni Bowlin...here I used a tag as well as a flash card sticker. 

Another Jenni Bowlin tag and I also used a tab above my picture.

Here, stamped a Jillibean Soup kraft coin envelope and added some Ideology pieces to it.  The stamp is one of Wendy Vecchi's!  

This time, I used a Jenni Bowlin tag as my background. Perfect for journaling!

Just off to the right, you can see one of Maya Road's new kraft pennants!  Love these!!

Hello Monday

It definitely feels like a Monday! Definitely does NOT feel like the end of November! We are having very warm weather in Central IL today! It's quarter til 1pm and 65 degrees! Such a tease since snow is forecasted for later this week. 


Have been trying to squeeze in some creating time between all the busyness!  Here is a layout I just finished, using Imaginisce's "Teacher's Pet" line. I bought it last spring while in Northern Indiana at a scrapbook store! Love it! 

I also took some pictures of a mini book I did for my wonderful husband for Father's Day. I admit it just recently was finished! Oops!  My friend, Malika, gave me the idea of asking the kids questions about their dad. Pretty funny answers, if you ask me! Especially from Noah, who is 4. 

I'm SO BLESSED to have such a great husband!! He is a wonderful father to our children!

Getting ready to head to the store to finish cutting for my Christmas class coming up on the 4th.  :)
