Clear Scraps and Quick Quotes Fall Canvas

Hi everyone..I'm back to share a fun project I created for the Clear Scraps and Quick Quotes blog hop that is going on this week! Be sure to check out both companies' blogs for some fabulous giveaways!

I  love the fall colored paper Quick Quotes sent. And when I saw the Quick Quotes Whimsical Tree chipboard piece, I had the instant thought of doing a canvas.  I first inked the edges of my canvas with the Quick Quotes Powder Puff Biscotti chalk ink.
After layering my paper, I also added the Biscotti chalk ink, as well as used my distress tool on the edges. Before adhering it to the canvas, I stitched the edges with my sewing machine.

Next, I added beige acrylic paint in random areas to the edges of my paper and the canvas. There really is no wrong way to do this! And it's a great medium to add to projects!  I then added a larger amount of acrylic paint where I wanted my vellum quote to go.

I stitched the edges of my vellum quote and then adhered it to the canvas.  I added some paper flowers and decorative pins from Maya Road.

Next, I added distress ink to the Whimsical tree and adhered it to the canvas.  Taking alcohol inks, I colored my acrylic birds from the Clearly Accents Birds and Cage Embellishment. I added small black rhinestones for their eyes and affixed them to the tree using liquid adhesive.

Next, I also used alcohol ink on my acrylic leaf from the Clearly Accents Leaves Embellishments. I topped it off with adding a cute button and some bakers twine from Whisker Graphics.

At the bottom of my canvas, I added some random fall colored buttons and more bakers twine!

I hope this inspired you to make something fall themed! The wonderful thing about a canvas is that you can display it for the holidays or make something that can be out year round! My canvas is currently on my front entryway table! :)  Enjoy and thanks for reading! -Jen
