Simple Stories: layouts with Mistletoe Kisses

Ha ha..so I guess I'm only going to post once a month!  Seriously I can't keep up.  Life has been a little challenging lately....so blogging is at the bottom of my list. I'd go into more but I think this is supposed to be a scrap blog LOL
I did get away the first weekend of the month to a scrap retreat with some awesome ladies in NW Indiana!  I got a lot of layouts done for ME..ok I did some DT work but it was fun to do what I wanted.  And I got to share my stash of paper with my friends! The best part was that my long time scrap partner in crime, Malika Kelly, drove down from Canada for the weekend. It's been at least two and half years since I've seen Mal.  I sure do miss her. Hopefully we can start doing some more retreats and I'm trying to get her to be my assistant in Vegas next fall.

Now onto my layouts! Last month, I had two pages up on the Simple Stories blog using the cute Mistletoe Kisses collection.  I love the very nontraditional colors of this line and the embellishments are adorable!

For my first layout, "Believe", I used two patterns on white cardstock to give lots of color to my background. Of course, I layered lots of pattern under my photo including some of the 4x6 Journaling Element Cards (which is a great way to incorporate them into your pages!).

I layered some of the multi-colored trees from the sticker and chipboard sheets at the side of my photo. I also tucked one of the 3x4 Journaling Cards underneath to include some info about my picture.  I'm trying to scrap some of the same photos for each of my kids so this particular page is for my daughter.  Mistletoe Kisses is the perfect girlie Christmas line!

I love that Simple Stories has added washi tape as well as roller stamps to their collections! I used the roller stamp from Cozy Christmas and the coordinating MK washi with a cute typed sentiment sticker (found in the 4x6 Sticker Sheets).

Also, new are these decorative pins! How cute is this gingerbread man?

This adorable Christmas light banner is found on the 6x12 Chipboard Sheet! It even has silver foil accent!

For my title, I used the "Believe" cut file from the Simple Stories shop on Silhouette! I just used plain old white cardstock!

For my next layout, I used a started with a snowflake cut file for my background. I lightly misted with pink and light blue spray ink to give it a little pop of color.  I then adhered it to a 11x11 piece of white cardstock (which I in turn adhered to one of the cute patterns from Mistletoe Kisses).

I'm all about the layers so I added a few of the die cuts as well as chipboard pieces from the collection.  It's fun to use pop dots as well to give your page some dimension.

I love all of the little sticker sentiments that Simple Stories includes in their lines...I layered  couple along with a date and roller stamp.

Here's another one of the cute decorative clips!  So fun to add to the top of your photos!

Here is a close up of the misted snowflake background. I added coordinating enamel dots to a few of the middles.

That's all for now! Thanks for reading! Be sure to check out all of the new collections by visiting the Simple Stories Products page!
Have a great night!

Clear Scraps: Holiday Mixable Album

Hello...again apologizing for my absence. I have been down for almost two weeks with an upper respiratory infection. I thought I was getting better but this weekend I have been useless.  Really stinks when Christmas is this week and I have so much left to get done.

This past week I had a mini album up on the Clear Scraps blog using the new Holiday Mixable Album and Simple Stories' Claus and Co. collection.  I love this album....each page shape is so cute and as in all Mixable albums: you get acrylic and chipboard!

The first page is a acrylic star...I covered the bottom half with patterned paper as well as added embellishments from Claus and Co.  I am loving the wood veneer shapes, as well!

Here is the back of the first page...I added a cute tag as well as another wood veneer shape and the lovely Bradz (self adhesive brads).

The second page is a chipboard shaped stocking which I covered with many patterned papers. I cut my photo to 4x4 and allowed the edge to hang off the side.

Next up is an acrylic ornament which I covered the bottom half with paper. I also lightly lined the edges of the page with white acrylic paint to help it "pop"!

I think the snowman chipboard page is my favorite!  I first painted the edges with white paint then traced the shape onto patterned paper and cut just inside the line.
For the backside of the snowman page, I covered the chipboard entirely with patterned paper and lined with black pen.

The last page is an acrylic shaped present and the largest page in the book. It's a wonderful size for a 4x6 photo!
Thank you for stopping by!  Be sure to check out the Clear Scraps shop to check out this album and much more! Have a wonderful night!

My Scraps and More: Christmas Cookies

Sorry that I've been neglecting my blog!  Life has been busy and this week I've been sick. I can't seem to get caught up. I was hoping to scrap all weekend but have been doing more sleeping than playing with paper.  I'm hoping when the kids are on Christmas break I can get some crafting done!

Today I am sharing a layout I have up on the My Scraps and More blog.  If you haven't heard, MSAM is closing at the end of the month.  I'm very sad to hear this as I love being a part of the team as well as having a great community of fellow scrappers to challenge me! Plus, I can "talk shop" without worrying about annoying other people! LOL

I used Elle's Studio's Joyful collection for my page!  I love the non-traditional colors mixed in with the red and green!  I'm always a fan of grey and pink!

I had some Elle's Studio Pink Letter Stickers from a Paper Camellia kit so I thought they would be great for my title!

I used one of the journaling cards to accent my photo...again loving the grey!  I also added some Studio Calico wood veneer starburst and enamel dots from my stash.

I cut out one of the 2x2 squares from the sheet called "Oh What Fun" that has different sizes of snippets you can use.  I also added some of the lovely mini washi tape from Amy Tangerine to accent.

Showing one of the cute sentiments from Oh What Fun...love the grey and type print!

More items from my stash! I added a cute flair badge from {a flair for buttons} as well as a resin star from Freckled Fawn.
Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to shop at My Scraps and More using the code CLOSEOUT50!
Have a great night!

Paper Camellia December Days Christmas Countdown Mini Album

Hello...sorry I've been neglecting my blog!  I haven't been making much time to post.  Work has been busy as well as the kids' activities keep me hopping.  Anyway, I will try to be better!  And honestly, I've been in a bit of a funk when it comes to scrapbooking.  I'm hoping to spend the entire  day in my room tomorrow to try to get some of my mojo back. ;)
Today, I'm sharing a mini album I created using the Paper Camellia December Days kit.  This extra kit is stocked full of beautiful paper with the traditional red and greens, as well as touches of grey and black.  Also, you have a multitude of embellishments to choose from!

The kit also includes exclusive wood veneer words such as this "Joy".   I adhered a few of the die cut trees from the Pink Paislee Merry and Bright collection.

December Days also has exclusive flair buttons!  I used the cute reindeer at the top of my page with a glitter snowflake.

I used an 8 1/2 x 11 page protector and cut it down to 4x6. I then added the Teresa Collins Designs sequins and stitched the edges. Lastly, I added one of the Pink Paislee Glitter Words.

I am loving the White Wood Grain Cardstock from American Crafts!! It's so lovely! Did you know you can order it from the Paper Camellia shop?
