Sketch N Scrap Holiday Blog Hop + giveaway!

Happy Halloween!! Since this is my favorite holiday, I was so happy to be able to post today for the Sketch N Scrap Holiday Blog Hop!

I created this frame to hold ATC-size cards I decorated using American Crafts' Halloween line (which I guess you can only find at Target). I had seen other scrappy friends post about it and I almost didn't buy it. But, I couldn't resist.  :)

I used my Tim Holtz ATC die with the 6x6 paper pad and my Vagabond.  I love the matching mini clothes pins too!  For this card, I cut strips of paper and adhered them on a diagonal. The top layer is one of the fun coordinating washi tapes! I stitched through each layer  and added a metal clip from the Tim Holtz Idealogy line.

I got out my old Halloween stamps for this project! This chandelier is from clear stamp set from Unity Stamp Company. I heat embossed with Ranger Super Fine Embossing Powder in Black, then added some of the coordinating washi tape and sequins. I even had some left over enamel dots from the Teresa Collins Designs' Masquerade collection.  The stamped sentiment "trick or treat" is from an even older stamp set from Pink Paislee. (I'm a clear stamp hoarder!)

This card is pretty simple. I used vellum with a Sizzix Chevron Embossing Folder and added washi tape, American Crafts gold glitter tape, and one of the coordinating paper rosettes. Love the gold glitter!

Here, I made a vellum overlay and added sequins inside. On the bottom corner is another paper rosette and a decorative pin from Maya Road.

I used my 6 inch Chicken Wire Mascil from Clear Scraps and Heidi Swapp's Color Shine in Silver for this card.  I then added a stamped sentiment from Pink Paislee and a photo frame from Crate Paper. I then finished with more enamel dots and some washi tape. The flair is from {a flair for buttons}.

On this card, I used one of Heidi Swapp's color resist banners with more of the Silver Color Shine and stitched it across the top of the card. My little skull is from Making Memories...I added enamel dots for his eyes and some old school Making Memories letters to spell the "boo". The arrow is from Studio Calico.

Thank you for stopping by today! Have a safe and fun day if you celebrate Halloween! It's supposed to rain here all day so I think I may have some disappointed kiddos!
Tell me your favorite Halloween candy to be entered to win a 6x6 pad of Teresa Collins Designs' new Memorabilia!  I will pick a winner when I return from my missions trip on the 8th!

Clear Scraps Halloween Banner

Hello and happy Monday! Halloween is just a few short days away! Today I'm up on the
Clear Scraps blog with a fun Halloween banner I created with the Large Banner and My Mind's Eye's Happy Haunting.

I created this skull using my Tim Holtz Mini Skull and Bat die with a sheet of 12x12 Acrylic (cut down to fit through my Vagabond).  I added Glimmer Glam in Chandelier from Tattered Angels to give it some shimmer.

And here is the bat:  I used Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze.

I cut a large doily from patterned paper from my Silhouette and layered it under a misted doily.  I then created a paper rosette with a Halloween brad in the middle.  I then added a Maya Road bingo piece and decorative pin.

On this pennant, I used the 3 and 1 from the Acrylic Alphabet and Numbers Set. I colored them with alcohol ink in Rust. Instead of using a foam applicator, I actually dripped it directly onto the acrylic.

Thanks for reading today....be sure to check out the Clear Scraps store to check out these banners and lots more!  Have a great day!

Chic Tags Sunday Challenge: Gratitude

Hello!  Hope you have had a good weekend. It's been pretty low key around here. My son is recovering from some minor outpatient surgery so we've just been sticking around the house.  I've also been trying to get some of my DT projects finished before I leave for Haiti on Friday.

Today on the Chic Tags blog is another great Sunday Challenge that is all about gratitude! I used the new Exclusive November kit and Teresa Collins Designs' Memorabilia line.

I listed my "gratitudes" and numbered with different embellishments: brads, a letter sticker, stamp, and wooden veneer number.

I layered two of the Exclusive November tags and added a chipboard pennant from the Memorabilia 12x12 chipboard sheet.

One of the cool flair in the November kit! I layered it on top of this cute mini tag that also comes in the kit.

I created a couple pennants from punches and added a decorative brad from the Memorabilia line.

Love the Mini Icons from the Happy Place line!  I love how they coordinate with most any line/theme.

Play along with the Chic Tags challenge and be entered to win a fun prize pack!  And be sure to check out the shop to see the Exclusive November kit on sale now!
Have a great day!

Date Night

Hello..I'm back with another layout using the Chic Tags Exclusive October kit and Happy Place!  It's been so fun create with these products!  When I saw the date night flair I thought of this favorite photo of my husband and me!

Here, I used one of the Happy Place Hanging Tags for my journaling and added washi tape, bakers twine, and a Mini Icon.

I  "messy" stamped" this fun sentiment from the Happy Place Clear Stamp Set.

Here you can see my background...I love love love using my Chicken Wire Mascil from Clear Scraps! It is looking pretty well loved!! It's just a great shape to use for some added texture :)

I used more of the clear stamps on one of the exclusive tags, as well as background paper behind a photo frame (from Crate Paper).  I love layering my embellishments!

And the piece behind the inspiration....the "date night" flair!  Love the woodgrain background!

I had to use this Mini Icon from the Happy Place line.  I always make my husband pose for a photo when we're out.

Thanks for looking!  Hope you have a wonderful day! Be sure to check out the Chic Tags blog for more great inspiration! I love working with this team...everyone is so nice and supportive!

Life Captured: Chic Tags Exclusive October kit

Hey everyone....Happy Wednesday!  It's cold and cloudy here in Central Illinois...kind of a blah day. Better than yesterday's rain...some parts even got snow!  Too early in my opinion! LOL

Today, I am sharing a layout I created with Chic Tag's Exclusive October Kit and Happy Place patterned papers.  Loved using this kit...such fun tags and flair (which is a new thing for Chic Tags).  I am a big flair fan so I was happy to get some new pieces to work with.

Showing one of the tags (which is actually in the shape of a polaroid frame) that I layered under my photo.  And what about the #selfie flair!?  LOVE!

A couple more of the tags from the kit. Love how the date tag is perfect for the Pebbles date stamp!

Another tag and piece of flair. Love the ombre effect on the flair too!

The October kit also comes with an exclusive stamp set! Here is one of the sentiments...hashtag love!!

Check out the Chic Tags shop order your kit...and also watch for more sneaks of the November kit coming soon!!

Creating Banners with Chic Tags

Hello and Happy Tuesday! I'm up on the Chic Tags blog today showing how to create a fun banner on your layout using Mini Icons and Photo Toppers. I used the fun and new School House collection!

You can mix and match different icons and photo toppers...what is great about these embellishments is that they fit for pretty much any subject!

Next, I layered my pieces, adding in pennants that I created with a punch, as well as stamped images from the School House Nerd Acrylic Stamp Set (love the name! LOL)

I then stitched through the top of my banner and added some small embellishments such as enamel dots and wooden veneer starts. I also stamped a few of the hand drawn stars included in the clear stamp set.

For my title, I used one of the School Sayings Free Cut files found in the Chic Tags shop.
I love to cut most of my titles and shapes with white cardstock. I then use a light mist of spray ink to help my cut file stand out.

Stop by the Chic Tags shop to see this collection as well as many more fun papers and embellishments. And if you haven't checked out the October Exclusive kit, you must! Lots of fun embellishments and tags!
Have a great day!

Sunday Sketch Challenge with Chic Tags

Hello there..sorry for my absence. It's been kind of crazy around here between work and not feeling well.  Thankfully, I'm starting to feel human again so I'll try to be back to posting on a more regular basis!

Today on the Chic Tags blog is another awesome sketch from Ashley Horton!  I really enjoyed working with this sketch!

And here is my layout using the new Happy Place collection! I am loving the vibrant, fun colors of this line!

I cut this triangle border from my Silhouette, then added a mini icon and then stitched through. I also cut one of the sentiments found at the bottom of one of the 12x12 sheets and added it under my border.

Loving these clip tags! So cute to add to a photo!

Here, I used one of the free cut files from the Chic Tags Summer Sayings.

Another cute icon! I love using these at accent my pages!

The Happy Place Phrases are so versatile and I have been using them on pretty much every layout!  Here, I added one of the arrow rub ons, as well as the triangle stamp from the Happy Place Clear Acrylic Stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by!! Be sure to play along with today's challenge and add your layout to the blog! You will be entered to win a gift certificate to the Chic Tags shop
