October Afternoon Midway layouts

Hello and Happy Sunday. It's been a nice, long weekend for our family. Chris and I spent yesterday cleaning and preparing for my side of the family to come for brunch today.  It's supposed to be a Thanksgiving brunch so our decorations are in limbo between the two holidays LOL

Anyway, today I am sharing my last projects I created with October Afternoon's Midway collection.  I created these layouts for the design team at The Scrapbooking Studio. I feel very grateful to have such a wonderful store to work and shop at!

My first layout is titled "fun"..I used one of the new word expressions from Pink Paislee. I misted it with the Sprinklers in Pink Balloon.

I used some of the designer brads and wooden veneer stars from Studio Calico. I then added some drops of Pink Balloon and Token Sprinklers.

Some stitching underneath my photo with a piece of the Sew Fun Banner and a circle journal from Elle's Studio.

Here, I added a manila tag and then layered pieces of the Tidbits over it. Again, I added some wooden veneer shapes and finished with some bright orange bakers twine from We R Memory Keepers

Next is my second layout. The title is made from the 12x12 sheet of letter and number stickers.

I made these "chevrons" with my corner punch.

Showing off one of the Sew Fun Banners

Well, family will be here soon so I will sign off for now.  I'll be back soon with some new projects that I've been working on!
Thanks for reading! -Jen

October Afternoon Midway mini book

Hello..I'm back again to share another project done with October Afternoon's Midway collection!  I created this mini book for the design team at The Scrapbooking Studio. I colored the covers of the Here and Now book with the Sprinkler in Token.
One of the many great things about October Afternoon is that there are so many embellishments to choose from!  (and I usually buy them all!) :)

I layered patterned papers and pieces of the Tidbits and Doo-Dads from the collection, as well as a cute Tin Pin and some washi tape from Queen and Co.

I am loving the Sew Fun Banners!! You can stitch through them or use individual pieces!  The ticket strip is part of one of the many patterns.

I also love the pack of Designer Brads! The designs are so cute!  On this page, I used part of the circle Sew Fun Banners at the bottom of my photo.  I adhered a small wooden veneer circle scallop from Studio Calico around one and added a brad.

For this page, I used a manila tag and hid my picture and journaling underneath.  I used a Studio Calico wooden veneer word bubble on the front! You can also see some of the wooden veneer stars, as well. I used one of the tabs in the Tidbits and used my Catslife Press "Open Here" stamp.

Layering washi tape, patterned papers, and a cute brad. The stamp is from the Teresa Collins Everyday Moments Clear Stamps.

Hee hee...love the look on Hailey's face! LOL

Another stamp from Catlife Press!

Hope you enjoyed my mini book! Remember you can the Midway line at The Scrapbooking Studio (plus LOTS more!).

October Afternoon Midway card

Hi everyone! Hope you survived Thanksgiving and maybe some early Christmas shopping. My family and I spent the day at my sister and brother in law's.  It was a nice day visiting with family. I have felt a little under the weather though. I think all the crud that's been going around is catching up with me.
At least we have a long weekend!

Today I am sharing a card I created for the design team at The Scrapbooking Studio. I used October Afternoon's very fun collection: Midway.  I love the bright patterns and the overall theme of this line.

I adhered my patterned paper to cardstock and then added some grey stitching (can you tell I love my sewing machine?).  I also used my Ranger Distress Tool for the edges.

Here, I layered some of the die cuts and cardstock stickers, then adding one of the cute Tin Pins.
I finished it by sticking a Maya Road star pin and some bakers twine behind.

Love these wooden veneer word bubbles from Studio Calico!

Just a fun card you can send to a friend.

I have more Midway projects to share soon!  Thanks for reading! -Jen

I Am Thankful

Hi everyone and Happy Thanksgiving!

Today I am happy to share a fun project I created for the Clear Scraps design team!  Using the new Acrylic Recipe Stand, I created a mini book documenting what I am thankful for.   The stand comes with not only acrylic pages, but chipboard as well. I opted to not use the chipboard pages but they can easily be incorporated into your book.

I used Simple Stories' Harvest Lane collection for my book. Simple Stories is always a favorite and I love the beautiful colors of the line.  For the cover, I used Maya Road chipboard letters for my title, as well as the Harvest Lane letter stickers. I added a doily as well as a Maya Road Metal Vintage Trinket Love Hanger.
The mini clothespin is from Canvas Corp

I love the 4x6 journaling spots...they fit perfectly for this project!  Here, I added some letter stickers from the collection, as well as Studio Calico wooden veneer people and washi tape from American Crafts and Bella Blvd.

Love the circle tab on this album...a great spot to place my numbers!  I used Maya Road chipboard numbers and inked them with Red Velvet Tattered Angels Mist.

The house and picket fence come from the 12x12 Harvest Lane sticker sheet! Very cute!

Thanks for reading and I hope this inspires you to create a thankful project!

Checking in...

I haven't forgotten about updating..just been working on some projects! Plus, haven't been feeling like myself lately.  The holidays are hard for me without my mom.  Someone told me the other day you eventually have peace but that seems so far away right now.

I'm up on the Clear Scraps blog tomorrow! Can't wait to share the mini I did with the Acrylic Recipe Stand! I love how it turned out!

Max the pug

Hello and happy Thursday! One more week until Thanksgiving which is so hard to believe.  I'm in denial that the holiday season is approaching! LOL

Today I am sharing a layout I created with Pink Paislee's Portfolio line.  I absolutely LOVE this line!  The turquoise and yellow is gorgeous. And I love the embellishments!  And I couldn't help but use this adorable picture of my pug, Max!

The line comes with a package ephemera that includes tags, arrows, hearts, and other little tidbits to add to your project.

There are also new Artisan pieces of stars, heart, arrows and butterflies that have resist on them. So you can ink or spray to customize to your liking!

I actually created this layout as my submission for the Sketchabilities design team. I used Sketch #77. Be sure to check out the blog for lots of fun ideas!

My Mind's Eye All is Bright card

Christmas is only about six weeks away! Can you believe it?
Today I am sharing a card I created for the design team at The Scrapbooking Studio.  I used My Mind's Eye's All is Bright collection which is one of my favorite Christmas lines this year!

I first stamped the bird image (which is part of the clear stamp set of the line) onto my patterned paper followed by adding clear embossing powder and heating. I love the affect this gives!
For the bottom borders, I used my Jenni Bowlin Fiskars Jester border punch and then stitched through.

In the upper left hand corner, I added a doily (with stitching! Do you see a theme here? LOL)
I next stamped the "may your days be merry and bright" sentiment onto patterned paper and created a pennant.  The stamp is from last year's co-branded Simple Stories and Unity Stamp Company stamp set, 25 Days of Christmas.

My cards tend to be simple. I will admit they are not my strong point.  But, I love making them and learning new things.
